The Poudre Fire Department said the person was flown to a hospital after a four-hour rescue operation in a remote location.

LARIMER COUNTY, Colorado – A person involved in an SUV crash was airlifted to the hospital Saturday after a four-hour rescue effort in Larimer County.

The Poudre Fire Department said it received reports of an SUV rollover that trapped a patient’s arm shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday in a remote location near West County Road 54E and North County Road 25E, between Bellvue and Ted’s Place northwest of Fort Collins.

Dispatchers used the Prepared Live 911 system, which allows a person to live stream video from their phone to help first responders search.

Poudre Fire Authority crews worked with UCHealth EMS, UCHealth Lifeline, Larimer County Emergency Services and the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office to extricate and transport him.

They were able to free him with the help of a cable winch and rescue equipment. At around 6:35 p.m., after an “extensive rescue operation,” according to PFA, he was flown to hospital by helicopter.
