North Carolina teenager arrested for illegal weapon

MEDOC, NC (WNCN) — An Enfield man was charged with additional charges May 28 as part of a drug investigation.

On May 28 at 2:45 p.m., officers with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop for a window tint violation. Officers could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.


The sheriff’s office said they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and several firearms.

Naquavun Richardson, 19, of Enfield, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and a window tint violation.

On Friday, the sheriff’s office said that after further investigation, it was determined that one of the firearms had been illegally modified to convert it into an automatic weapon, which is a Class F felony.

Detective A. Holland obtained an additional warrant for the weapons violation. The sheriff’s office said Richardson is wanted on that charge.
