A day off after arriving in Buffalo, New York?

How many of you were sick on Monday, February 12th with a case of the “Super Bowl flu”? If you did, you wouldn’t be alone.

A recent survey an estimated 16 million workers called in the day after the big game, earning it the nickname “Super Sick Monday.”

The idea that the day after the Super Bowl should be declared a national holiday is bandied about every year, and many Buffalo Bills fans scoff at the suggestion — until the day actually arrives. Ugh.

In all honesty, and those who manage to squeeze their way into work are significantly less productive that day. Could we finally see the day after the Super Bowl finally become a legitimate day off here in Buffalo?

Buffalo, New York, could take a day off after the Super Bowl…

However, there is a catch – and unfortunately, it won’t happen anytime soon.

“It ends on Presidents Day weekend, which is a three-day weekend, so the game is Sunday night and then you have Monday off.” – NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell

That’s what we’re here for, Goodell! Make it happen!
