BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Wind and rain aren’t the best weather mix for creating chalk art, but the talented artists participating in ChalkFest 2024 managed to make it work.

This year’s theme was mythical creatures, with artists creating their works inside grain silos and under RiverWorks ziplines.

Artists say it’s fun to use chalk as an artistic tool.

“It’s just temporary, so it lasts a day or two,” said Aaron O’Brian, a Chalkfest performer. “There’s so much phenomenal artwork here and people put all this time and effort into it and you just enjoy it for the moment.”
