POSCO case filed against actor Koottickal Jayachandran for sexually abusing a four-year-old

A four-year-old girl was the victim of sexual abuse. A complaint was filed against actor Koottickal Jayachandran. He is now facing charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Assault Act. The girl’s mother reported the incident to Kasaba police station, which registered a case.

The woman who filed the complaint alleged that the actor abused the child after taking advantage of the family’s domestic problems. After filing the complaint, the police visited the woman’s house and recorded her statement. Following the instructions of the district child protection unit, the police also recorded the statement of the child, who was the victim of the alleged abuse. The investigation is ongoing.

Jayachandran, a native of Kottayam, started his career as a mimic artist and gained recognition as a host of several comedy shows on Surya TV. He also dabbled in acting in films. He has worked in films such as detective (2007), My chef (2012) and Drishyam (2013) among others. The actor’s last appearance was in the 2022 film Pathonpatham Noottanduled by Vinayan.
