Joe Biden speaks out against Donald Trump’s new attack: “Is he describing himself?”

President Joe Biden suggested that former President Donald Trump was actually referring to himself with his recent critical remarks.

Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, railed this week against Biden’s new executive order to seal the U.S.-Mexico border and curb illegal immigration. Trump called Biden’s leadership “weak” and said he only signed the bill because of the upcoming 2024 election.

ABC News’ David Muir pointed to Trump’s comments toward Biden in an interview broadcast Thursday.

Trump, Muir said, “said of your executive action, ‘He’s pretending to finally do something about the border, but he’s just in it for show.’ He says, ‘We’re in for a debate. Biden’s executive order is weak and pathetic.'”

Biden countered: “Is he describing himself? Weak and pathetic? There you go.”

“Look, everyone knows what happened,” the president continued. “We had a deal. It was much more comprehensive than this one, much better, much more widely accepted, and he called the Republicans and told them, ‘Don’t support him, he’s going to hurt me, he’s going to help Biden.'”

Biden’s bipartisan border bill was blocked by Republicans in Congress earlier this year at Trump’s urging. The president called it an “extremely cynical political move” by Republicans earlier this week.
