Man convicted of sexually touching two children in his mother’s daycare center

The Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office said a jury found the man guilty on 10 counts of indecent touching of a child.

FORSYTH COUNTY, NC – A judge sentenced a Winston-Salem man to three years probation for sexually assaulting children at his mother’s daycare center.

The Forsyth County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday that a jury found Juan Carlos Trujillo-Reyna guilty of ten counts of indecent touching of a child.

The attacks occurred in 2009 on two young girls who attended the same daycare center. The victims were between four and five years old. Trujillo-Reyna was about 30 years old at the time.

The investigation began in 2015 when one of the victims, who was about 11 at the time, told her mother about the sexual abuse. Investigators said the victim described numerous incidents of inappropriate touching and at least one instance in which the suspect exposed himself to her and tried to pull her into the bathroom with him, according to prosecutors.

Then, in 2019, investigators received a report from one of the girl’s doctors saying her patient had told her she had been sexually abused by a man named Carlos at her babysitter’s home.

Investigators found that the girls attended the same daycare run by Trujillo-Reyna’s mother, who they said lived there. Trujillo-Reyna was arrested in January 2020 on 10 counts of indecent assault. The daycare is no longer in operation.
