The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that there is a problem with the seat belt warning light. If the driver is not buckling up, the light and warning signal may not illuminate as intended.

The authority announced that the recall affects 125,227 vehicles of the following models and years of manufacture:

  • Model S (2021-2024)
  • 2015-2024 Model X
  • Model 3 (2017-2023)

The problem will be fixed with an over-the-air software update, the NHTSA said. Owners will receive letters from Tesla after July 27. They can also call the company at 877-798-3752. The internal recall number is SB-24-00-008.
