Gang-rape victim of minor dies during treatment in Banswara | News from Udaipur

Udaipur: A minor in Patan in Banswara district was allegedly held hostage for 2.5 months, gang-raped and later abandoned at her father’s house. The critically injured minor battled for life in hospital for four days but died on Monday. Police registered a case of hostage-taking, gang-rape and murder and arrested the main accused.

Banswara SP Harshwardhan Agrawal said it was not a case of abduction as the girl and the accused were living together for more than two months and the girl’s parents knew about it. “The family had claimed that there were bruises on the minor’s body but these were not found during the examination. The girl is also said to have a history of epilepsy. The girl is a minor and rape has been proven,” Agarwal said.

“The main accused was arrested on Wednesday afternoon,” the SP added.
