CT police investigate shooting after one dead and one injured

One person was killed and another injured, according to reports of a shooting in Naugatuck on Saturday evening.

According to Naugatuck police, officers responded to reports of a shots fired on Goldfinch Lane around 9 p.m. Saturday and encountered two people in the area.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The department said it was “investigating an incident involving an untimely death” and had requested assistance from the Connecticut State Police Western District Major Crimes Unit.

The department’s statement also said the area had been secured and there was “no danger to the public.”
