A Tyrone man was arrested on drug charges after state police reportedly pursued him to Philadelphia and back.

According to the probable cause affidavit, state police have been monitoring 33-year-old Jesse Alvin Riggleman III since March 2024. He is alleged to have sold heroin in controlled buys with police in recent months before they received a tip-off about an impending drug buy in Philadelphia.

Police confirmed that Riggleman had purchased drugs in Philadelphia on May 3 and obtained a search warrant for his vehicle when he returned to Blair County, court documents say.

After returning to Snyder Township, Riggleman was stopped on Interstate 99 and state police officers found 88 baggies of suspected heroin and fentanyl in a coat that Riggleman allegedly claimed was his own, police records show.

Riggleman was arrested by police on a warrant related to the controlled purchases.

He was arraigned on May 17 before Magistrate Judge Benjamin F. Jones on three felony counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver and criminal use of a communications facility, along with three misdemeanor counts of use/possession of drug paraphernalia and five misdemeanor counts of willful possession of controlled substances by an unregistered person.

Unable to post $100,000 bail, Riggleman was transported to the Blair County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 28 before Magistrate Judge Carmine W. Prestia Jr.
