“Gaslit” Britney Spears describes the incident at Chateau Marmont

Britney Spears has a few things to say about what happened last week when she was photographed leaving the Chateau Marmont in very little clothing.

The Grammy winner twisted her ankle a week ago while attempting a jump in her suite at the venerable hotel and paramedics were called, but she was not treated by medical staff before heading home. The Times confirmed that Spears also had an argument with boyfriend Paul Soliz at the time, which resulted in the pop star leaving the hotel with her own security team.

The “…Baby One More Time” singer claimed at the time that paramedics came to her door “illegally.”

“I really wish my life was as wild as it’s portrayed!!!,” Spears wrote on Instagram on Monday, sharing incongruous shots of herself on horseback at what appeared to be a ranch. “Anyway, something actually happened to my foot and I may need surgery… I’m keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully not, but I feel like I’ve been harassed and gaslighted and made to give up to walk down the street even though my car is supposed to be there!!!”

The 42-year-old, whose past erratic behavior led to a 13-year conservatorship that ended in 2021, refuted a wide-ranging TMZ report that claimed she was having a “mental breakdown” on the night of the Chateau Marmont incident suffered.

“I was in my pajamas and yes, I was crying because I hurt my foot!!! No breakdown!!! “I’m a grown ass woman who is actually very naive in most situations!!!” the “Toxic” and “Hold Me Closer” singer said in the video. “I’m just embarrassed that they caught me in my damn pajamas!!! I don’t feel loved…I feel mistreated!!! Anyway, I’m going to treat myself this week!!!”

The singer and dancer had previously declared on Instagram that “the news was fake” by posting a video showing her swollen ankle and saying she injured it while attempting to jump in the living room of her hotel suite. She said she “fell and embarrassed herself” and that the arrival of paramedics “caused this huge scene that was so unnecessary” when all she needed was ice. It’s unclear who called authorities.

Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, confirmed Friday that the agency received a 911 call at Chateau Marmont at 12:42 a.m. Thursday. Citing medical privacy regulations, he could not identify the person for whom the call was made.

Humphrey said paramedics were dispatched to the hotel after a caller requested assistance for an injured adult female. He said the caller did not provide further details about the injury. The ambulance left Chateau Marmont at 1:17 a.m. without transporting the person and there was no response from law enforcement.

The spokesperson did not comment on the allegations Spears made about the paramedics on social media. That included allegations against her mother, Lynne Spears, and praise for her personal attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, who she said got her through the Chateau ordeal.

Earlier this month, Rosengart was instrumental in resolving a years-long dispute with her father and former conservator Jamie Spears over payment of the elder Spears’ legal fees and the way he managed his daughter’s finances during the contentious legal arrangement.

The “The Woman in Me” author also reached a divorce settlement with estranged third husband Sam Asghari, which was filed last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
