Fatal shooting by Crookston police under investigation by state agency

(Crookston, MN) – The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating after Crookston police shot and killed a man early yesterday morning.

Officers responded to a report of a man brandishing a hatchet in the middle of the street. The department says as the man approached officers, they tried to stop him using less-lethal methods, but that didn’t work. They then opened fire and killed the man.
