Fatal accident on Jefferies Boulevard

On Thursday afternoon, May 15, an incident occurred on North Jefferies Blvd. a single vehicle accident. The SUV left the road and struck a tree and a utility pole. The male driver suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was unconscious in the vehicle. The Colleton County Fire Department, Walterboro City Fire Department and Police Department responded. Firefighters treated the man at the scene and then transported him to Colleton Medical Center. The driver did not survive his injuries. Walterboro police are investigating the accident.
