Wife and husband found dead in Oakland County home after committing suicide

PONTIAC, Mich. — Oakland County officials said a wife and husband were found dead after a murder-suicide in their home over the weekend.

Officers said they were called to a home in the 1200 block of Maurer Avenue in Pontiac on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at approximately 5:35 p.m.

When they arrived, officers found a 33-year-old woman and her 29-year-old husband lying in the hallway. They died of gunshot wounds, police said.

Investigators determined the man killed his wife and then himself, according to a statement from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

A handgun and two spent bullet casings were found on the hallway floor.

The investigation is ongoing.
