Man dead after shooting in Hollygrove neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A man has died in a shooting in the Hollygrove neighborhood, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

On Sunday, May 12, at approximately 8:53 p.m., NOPD officers said they responded to a call of a shooting at the corner of Appel and Monroe streets.


When they arrived, they reportedly found a man lying in the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No further information is currently available. The NOPD is in the process of gathering evidence and information to determine a possible suspect and motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity after an autopsy is performed and the family is notified.
