Euclid police officer dies after shooting

EUCLID, Ohio (WJW) – The Fox 8 I-Team has confirmed that a Euclid police officer was killed in a shooting Saturday night.

Tornado confirmed in northeast Ohio on Saturday

The shooting happened near East 211th Street and South Lake Shore.

The officer was a military veteran and had been on the force for less than two years

“He was an amazing person. Just a great heart. Had an incredible smile. The world is a better place with him,” said Euclid Police Chief Scott Meyer.

Officers from several departments assisted Euclid Police, including the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department. BCI is also supporting the investigation.

It is not known whether any arrests were made.
