Uniontown man killed in crash Thursday morning in West Alabama

A 76-year-old West Alabama man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Perry County on Thursday, state troopers report.

Corporal Reginal King, a spokesman for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said Thomas R. Long of Uniontown was driving a 2014 Subaru Outback on Alabama Highway 183 Thursday morning.

Long’s SUV collided head-on with a 2021 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by a man from Jemison, Alabama. Long was pronounced dead at the scene.

King said the accident occurred around 10:25 a.m. Thursday morning on Alabama 183 near mile marker 11, about 11 miles north of Uniontown in Perry County.

No further information was available Friday afternoon.
