Teenager shot while playing with gun in Baton Rouge, police say

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge Police responded to an accidental shooting on Monday, July 29, at approximately 11:45 p.m.

BRPD police arrived at the 2100 block of Thomas Road to find that a 14-year-old boy had been shot in the hand. Police said it happened while the teen was playing with a gun.


Emergency services officials said they arrived at the scene and took one person to hospital in stable condition.

Several BRPD units were observed on site.

Police said no charges would be filed in this case.

Detectives are also investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured on Sunday, July 28.
