Orange alert was issued in parts of West Virginia and Ohio on Monday

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Orange Air Quality Alert for Monday.

Much-needed rain will move through the region this afternoon, removing suspended lithometeors (dry air particles).

Rainfall will be intermittent during most days of this work week, providing relief for wildfires and drought-stricken areas.

According to the Weather Forecast Center, rainfall of between 2.5 and 5 centimeters is expected in our region from now until Saturday.
