Two dead in crash on I-89 Middlesex Vt., Massachusetts – NECN

Two people from Massachusetts died in a fiery accident in Vermont early Sunday morning.

According to Vermont State Police, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 89 in Middlesex at approximately 5:04 a.m. and found a Lexus ES330 fully engulfed in flames.

The driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. They have since been identified as 19-year-old Sean Delaney and 20-year-old Elana Korey, both of Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Investigators concluded that speed was a contributing factor to the accident. It was foggy at the time of the accident, but the roads were clear and there was little traffic.

Further details about the fatal accident involving two men have not been released. The investigation is ongoing.
