1 dead, 1 injured in head-on collision in Pickens Co.

PICKENS COUNTY, SC (WSPA) – A head-on collision in Pickens County claimed the life of one driver and sent another to the hospital Monday morning.

The accident occurred on Highway 11 near Sliding Rock Road around 9:10 a.m.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, an SUV and a car were traveling on Highway 11 when they collided head-on.

The driver of the car died of his injuries at the scene, while the driver of the SUV was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital, police said.

The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
