Fox Crossing fire remains under investigation | WTAQ News Talk | 97.5 FM · 1360 AM

FOX CROSSING, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A family of two adults and two children was left homeless after a fire Friday that also injured a firefighter and left four pets dead.

A Fox Crossing Fire Department news release states that emergency crews were called to a one-story, single-family home in the 1000 block of Cold Spring Road shortly after 5:30 p.m. on July 19.

A Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) alerted the Appleton Fire Department and the Neenah-Menasha Fire Department to assist at the fire scene.

Within half an hour, the fire brigade managed to bring the fire under control.

Teams conducted rescue operations in the home, where they discovered four dead pets.

One firefighter was injured and had to be treated for a heat-related injury.

The press release states that the American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family of four.

There is currently no damage estimate. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
