Delta to waive fare difference for passengers affected by computer outage who rebook flights – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — Delta Air Lines is offering more options to passengers affected by the weekend’s computer outage.

The airline says it will “waive the fare difference for passengers” who rebook between now and July 27.

In a statement on the airline’s website, “A travel waiver, which provides customers with the opportunity to make a one-time change to their itinerary, is in effect. The fare difference for customers will be waived when travel is rescheduled no later than July 27, in the same service cabin as originally booked.”

On Sunday morning, Delta “expressed its appreciation” to passengers affected by cancellations across the country after nearly 300 Delta flights were canceled at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport alone.

“We apologize for the inconvenience. Canceling a flight is always our last resort and is not taken lightly,” the lengthy statement read. “Delta is reaching out directly to heavily impacted customers via email Sunday to notify them of the disruption, apologize, and issue SkyMiles miles or a travel voucher.”

Delta also offers SkyMiles miles and covers eligible expenses for hotel, meals and ground transportation.

If you are unable to reschedule your flight before this date, you can cancel your booking and keep the money to use for a new flight that must be booked within one year.

Additionally, if you want your money back, you can request a cash refund.
