Floresville man sentenced to 30 years in prison for sexually exploiting 7-year-old girl

SAN ANTONIO – A Floresville man was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to sexually exploiting a 7-year-old girl.

The U.S. Department of Justice said 45-year-old Rodney Allen Felux sexually abused and exploited a girl while she was attending a daycare center in December 2022.

Investigators launched an investigation after the child told her mother that Felux had blindfolded her and sexually abused her, including taking several sexually explicit photographs of her.

“This verdict sends a clear message that we will not tolerate the sexual abuse and exploitation of children in our community,” said Special Agent in Charge Aaron Tapp of the FBI’s San Antonio Field Office. “The FBI, along with our law enforcement partners at the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, will continue to vigorously pursue every lead to rescue child victims of sexual abuse and bring their perpetrators to justice.”

Felux was arrested in January 2023 and pleaded guilty to child sexual abuse in January 2024. Felux will be on life-long supervision after completing his prison sentence, the press release added.

In addition to his prison sentence, Felux must pay the victim $50,000.

The FBI and the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
