Seaboard employee dies in car crash at Oklahoma factory

GUYMON, OKLA. — Guymon police and Seaboard Foods confirmed that an employee at the pork processing plant in Guymon, Oklahoma, was killed in a traffic accident. The incident occurred in the plant’s trailer park, according to the company.

Police said officers received a 911 call from the Seaboard plant at around 12:30 a.m. on July 12. Before they arrived at the scene, a second 911 call was made about the accident.

An adult male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Guymon police. The incident remains under investigation. The employee who was killed has not been identified.

Seaboard said it extends its deepest condolences to the employee’s family and friends during this difficult time.

“We fully cooperate with any investigations conducted by local law enforcement and regulatory authorities,” a company spokesperson said. “Because Seaboard Foods is concerned about the safety and well-being of its employees, we offer counseling services to any employees who are interested in such services.”

The company said operations had resumed following the accident.
