An Atlanta mother’s cleaning day turned into a true horror movie when she was attacked by a swarm of poisonous spiders and suffered serious injuries.

Jessica Rogue, 44, a mother of three, was hospitalized with swollen and burning skin after she was bitten on the face by brown recluse spiders while cleaning out a shed in her home on July 1. Jessica told AtlantaNewsFirst how she was trying to unravel a tangled web when the creepy crawlies launched their attack.

Within hours of the bites, she found herself in the emergency room. Her face, arms and neck were grotesquely swollen. Jessica suffered permanent scarring, skin irritation and an affected eye from the venomous bites and had to spend several days in the hospital.

“My eye is what I’m really worried about. My eye hurts a lot. I just don’t know what’s going to happen to my eye,” Jessica told the news channel.

A GoFundMe page set up for Jessica’s medical expenses has raised $2,360. The campaign’s creator, Morgan Underwood, explained what happened: “Jessica was tending to her own garden and some stupid recluse spiders got her. RIGHT IN THE FACE! … She has numbness and loss of movement in her hands and feet (not sure yet if this is temporary or permanent) and her skin is burning.”
