JSO: Man found dead in house on Firestone Road in Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said a man was found dead in a home on Firestone Road.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was found dead inside a home on Jacksonville’s west side shortly after midnight Monday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Shortly after midnight, officers were called to the 2500 block of Firestone Road for a fatality, according to JSO Sergeant Ray Reeves. When they arrived, they found the man dead inside a home.

“Jacksonville Sheriff’s Homicide and Crime Scene Investigators have responded and are conducting the investigation,” Reeves said. “At this time, we believe this was an accident, but classification is pending.”

JSO says the investigation is continuing in conjunction with the coroner’s office, while the sheriff’s office adds that “this is an isolated incident and there is no additional threat to the community.”
