Authorities seek information on South Salt Lake shooting incident

SOUTH SALT LAKE (KUTV) — Authorities are seeking information regarding a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning in the South Salt Lake area.

South Salt Lake City police officials said they were notified of multiple gunshots in the area between 125 East and 300 East on Helm Avenue around 1 a.m. on July 6.

SSL police said a caller informed them that multiple gunshots had struck a car. When they arrived on the scene, they learned that a nearby residence had also been struck by a bullet.

Officials said no one in the car or home was hit, noting that it appears to have been an isolated incident and therefore does not pose a public threat.

The evidence collected reportedly suggests that several suspects were involved in the case – all of whom are currently at large.
