Aiah Arceta of BINI urged the public to respect the “personal time and humanity” of celebrities after she and her bandmates had a disturbing encounter with a man who apparently tried to kiss them at a lounge bar in Cebu City.

In her Instagram stories, Arceta raised the alarm after a certain AJ Fernan tried to move his face near the BINI singer in the bar where she wanted to relax with some companions after the “BINIverse” concert.

A video of the incident quickly made the rounds on social media, showing Arceta visibly shocked and immediately trying to get away from the man.

“I am grateful to everyone who has been so kind, understanding and patient with me. I am blessed to have people like them and I hope we continue to have eyes that see the good, mouths that say the right things and ears that can listen and understand,” she added.

She said she returned to her hometown of Cebu to de-stress and enjoy time with family and friends, but was disappointed because some people did not understand her “need for privacy and personal time.”

“However, there were still times when other people did not understand the need for privacy and personal time. Some walked right up to me, took a photo even while I was eating, posted it in real time, used my face and posted it on pages or places without my consent to gain influence and publicity, and worse, some even gave the real-time location, which I do not think is safe,” she said.”

In her post, Arceta then made it clear that while she was grateful that many people were “slowly learning more about (her)” and BINI, she still appealed for respect.

“Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy taking photos with others and meeting people who are as passionate about the world of music and entertainment as we are,” she said. “But I just hope that people see and respect us as people too. We can’t always go out lately because we’re busy with work, and the least we can ask is that others respect our personal time and our humanity.”

The BINI member also reminded her followers to be “kinder in their words and actions,” especially on social media, while pointing out the impact it can have on someone.

“You never know how much it can weigh on someone and affect them on a daily basis. I hope we can fill this world with love, respect and positivity,” she added.

Arceta’s post comes days after Star Magic boss Laurenti Dyogi reminded the public to respect the P-Pop girl group’s privacy and free time on BINI’s official social media platforms.

Besides Arceta, her bandmate Maloi was also the victim of a similar incident after she was mobbed by fans while eating with her family in Batangas. As of press time, she has not yet commented on the incident.
