WEATHER WARNING: Storms are expected in Bulloch on Thursday afternoon

The National Weather Service in Charleston is forecasting strong storms across the region this afternoon. There is a cold front with widespread rain and thunderstorms. Heavy thunderstorms and rain are expected until Friday evening.

The storms are expected to arrive in Bulloch County around 1 p.m. NWS forecasts the possibility of damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph, some hail up to 1 inch, heavy rainfall and possibly an isolated tornado.

Residents should bring loose items from outside, watch for downed trees and power lines, and ensure they have multiple options for receiving weather alerts.

Another round of isolated thunderstorms could hit the region on Friday. While there is considerable uncertainty regarding the location and timing of these thunderstorms, any storms that move through the area may produce damaging wind gusts, large hailstones and/or isolated waterspouts.
