General Dynamics reports two injured and one missing in “energy incident” at Camden plant

CAMDEN, Arkansas – Two people were injured and a third person is missing at the General Dynamics Ordinance and Tactical Systems facility in Camden Wednesday morning.

A spokesman issued a statement describing the incident at 8:15 a.m. as an “energetic incident” involving pyrotechnics.


The spokesperson said the company is working with first responders on the scene, adding that the company will fully cooperate with all authorities in their investigation of the incident.

According to the company The Camden facility is an 81,000 square meter manufacturing facility and storage space serving as a facility for loading, assembling and packing General Dynamics explosives.

Numerous types of weapons for the US military are produced and stored there, including the 2.75-inch Hydra-70 rocket, Hellfire and Javelin missiles, the Modular Artillery Loading System and various mortar shells.
