According to police, a mother fatally hit her daughter with her car in a tragic accident

According to police, a 31-year-old mother fatally hit her two-year-old daughter with her car while she was parking.

The accident, which police described as a “heartbreaking incident,” occurred around 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Comly Street in the Crescentville neighborhood.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that before the collision, the mother parked her blue Chevrolet Traverse in front of her home to unload groceries and took her daughter into the home.

She went back to move her car to another location but didn’t notice her daughter following her outside.

As she moved her vehicle forward, the mother ran over her daughter with her car, police said. Paramedics responded and transported the toddler to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m

Police have not identified the mother and daughter but confirmed the matter remains under investigation.
