THESE NEW DEVELOPMENTS COME IN THIS MORNING, KOCO AUDREY GOODSON IS THERE THIS MORNING. AUDREY, WHAT’S THE LATEST FROM THE AUTHORITIES? THAT’S CORRECT. THE SEARCH HAS BEEN ON SINCE LAST NIGHT. BUT A FEW HOURS AGO THE OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE WERE ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT THEY HAD ACTUALLY FOUND A BODY IN THE LAKE. THEY ALSO CONFIRMED TO US THAT THE PERSON THEY FOUND WAS AN OKLAHOMA CITY POLICE OFFICER. POLICE INDICATE US THAT THE REPORT OF THE DROWNING CASE WAS RECEIVED LAST EVENING AROUND 6:00 PM NEAR SOUTH DOUGLAS AND SOUTHEAST 119TH STREET. OFFICERS INDICATE US THAT THEY HAVE DEPLOYED THEIR DIVE TEAM AND SEARCH BOATS TO SEARCH FOR THE VICTIM. AT THIS TIME POLICE HAVE NOT PROVIDED US WITH HER NAME. Authorities say the body of an Oklahoma City police officer was recovered from Lake Stanley Draper after an hours-long search overnight.Click here for the latest interesting news.Police told KOCO 5 that a call for a drowning accident came in just before 6 p.m. Monday near the corner of South Douglas Avenue and Southeast 119th Street.According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, passengers on a boat reported that two people had fallen overboard and into the water. While attempting to recover the two, the boat lost contact with one of the people, according to authorities.The Oklahoma City Fire Department and Police Department coordinated a sonar scanning pattern over the area where the victim was last seen. Oklahoma City police confirmed the person recovered was one of their officers. Police have not released the officer’s name. KOCO 5 will provide more details as they become available. Authorities said the body of an Oklahoma City police officer was recovered from Lake Stanley Draper overnight after an hours-long search.

Police told KOCO 5 that a 911 call came in about a drowning near South Douglas Avenue and Southeast 119th Street shortly before 6 p.m. Monday.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, passengers on a boat reported that two people fell overboard and into the water. While attempting to rescue the two, the boat lost contact with one of them, according to authorities.

The Oklahoma City Fire Department and Oklahoma City Police Department coordinated a sonar scan pattern over the area where the victim was last seen. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol also provided additional equipment and support.

The victim’s body was recovered around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. Oklahoma City police confirmed that the person recovered was one of their officers. Police have not released the officer’s name.
