Man dead after motorcycle accident in Guernsey County

MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WCMH) – A man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Madison Township, Guernsey County, Sunday afternoon.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Cambridge Post, the accident occurred around 3:07 p.m. on U.S. Route 22.


Dylan J. Berry, 23, of Lore City, was riding a 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on U.S. 22 when he crossed the center line and struck the left side of a 2012 Kia Sorento traveling west, police said.

Berry was flown to Zanesville Genesis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:08 p.m.

The driver of the Sorento, a woman from Pickerington, and the passengers in the vehicle were not injured.

Police said alcohol did not appear to play a role in the accident. Berry was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, OSHP said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Antrim Fire Department and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The crash remains under investigation.
