According to police, three people were shot overnight after an apparent argument in Chicago’s Grand Crossing neighborhood

CHICAGO – An apparent dispute ended with the shooting of three people in the Grand Crossing neighborhood on the city’s south side early Sunday morning.

According to preliminary information from Chicago police, three adults were walking in the 500 block of East 76th Street around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday morning when they got into a verbal altercation with two unknown assailants, who then got into a silver SUV, drove up next to the three adults and began firing in their direction.


A male and female victim were taken to a nearby hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead, police said. A third victim was taken to another nearby hospital and also pronounced dead there.

According to police, the silver SUV fled eastbound after the shooting. No other injuries were reported. No one is in custody and Area Two detectives are investigating.
