Man sentenced for attacking police officer, security guard and hospital staff in Lancaster

A LANCASTER MAN NOW FACING ADDITIONAL PRISON TIME AFTER HE ATTACKED A LANCASTER POLICE OFFICER, A PRISON GUARD AND A HOSPITAL WORKER, POLICE SAY. 27-YEAR-OLD JAMAL ROBERTSON PLEADED GUILTY YESTERDAY MORNING TO THREE COUNTS OF GRAVE BODILY INJURY WHILE HE WAS MENTALLY ILL. POLICE SAY HE BEAT A LANCASTER POLICE OFFICER WHILE BEING TRANSPORTED BACK FROM CAPTIVATING IN APRIL LAST YEAR. ON THE SAME DAY, POLICE SAID ROBERTSON HIT A LANCASTER GENERAL HEALTH SECURITY OFFICER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD SEVERAL TIMES. AND LAST SEPTEMBER, POLICE SAID ROBERTSON LEFT HIS CELL WITHOUT PERMISSION AND ATTACKED A PRISON GUARD AFTER THE GUARD ATTEMPTED TO HANDCUFF HIM. ROBERTSON IS NOW SERVING ANOTHER TWO AND A HALF TO FIVE YEARS IN STATE PRISON. HE

Lancaster man sentenced to lengthy prison term for attacking police officer, security guard and hospital staff

An inmate faces additional prison time after he attacked a Lancaster police officer, a prison guard and a hospital employee, according to police. Jamail Robertson, 27, pleaded guilty Thursday to three counts of aggravated assault but was mentally ill. In April 2023, police said, Robertson punched a Lancaster police officer as he was being transported from his cell. That same day, police said, Robertson also punched a security guard in the back of the head several times at Lancaster General Hospital. In September 2023, police said, Robertson left his cell without permission and attacked a prison guard after the guard attempted to handcuff him. Robertson now faces an additional 2.5 to 5 years in state prison. He is already serving time for robberies in 2022.

According to police, Robertson struck a Lancaster police officer in April 2023 as he was being transported from his cell.

In September 2023, police said, Robertson left his cell without permission and attacked a prison guard after he tried to handcuff him.

Robertson now faces another 2.5 to 5 years in state prison.

He was already in prison for robberies in 2022.
