KSP conducts death investigation in Pike County

SHELBY GAP, Kentucky – Kentucky State Police received a 911 call Tuesday regarding a shooting in the Pike County community of Shelby Gap.

Police and KSP investigators discovered two people in a home on Kelly Mountain Road. The people had been shot.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two were a married couple. Both suffered fatal gunshot wounds and the Pike County Coroner’s Office declared the couple dead in the apartment.

The individuals were identified as Rickie Potter, 57, and Sabrina Potter, 51, of Shelby Gap.

According to police, Rickie Potter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

KSP is not currently looking for suspects.
