Man arrested for sexually abusing underage girl at local ice rink

SHAWNEE, Okla. (KFOR) – A man is in jail after police say he posed as a teenager and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl in the parking lot of an ice rink.

Dominic Holland, 27, was arrested in Pottawatomie County in May after police say he allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl outside the Star Skate in Shawnee in April.

“When there’s a predator like this on the loose, I want to make sure – especially as a deputy – that we locate the people we know,” said Sergeant Richard Finch of the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office.

Court documents show that Holland was a regular at Star Skate, visiting almost every Friday and Saturday night, and once even applied for a job there.

“Some sexual activity occurred,” Holland said.

Court documents describe a videotaped sexual encounter between the 11-year-old and Holland in the Star Skate parking lot.

“He didn’t like to admit anything openly,” Finch said.

The girl told investigators that Holland told her he was 15.

When the police reported about Holland on the Internet, more victims came forward.

“There are four in total,” said Finch.

Investigators say Holland also frequently visited several other ice skating rinks in the area.

“He visited skating rinks in the Norman area, Moore, Muskogee and of course Shawnee and the Choctaw area,” Finch said.

“It will probably be easier for him to specifically target a victim there,” Finch said.

Investigators now fear that there are more victims.

“We want to encourage them to come forward. If they are afraid or ashamed, we want to encourage them not to do so,” Finch said.
