Woman raped at British tourist attraction; attacker still at large

A rapist is on the loose after a woman was attacked on a coastal path at a British tourist resort. The woman was attacked on a coastal path in Cornwall.

The rape occurred at around 6pm on Wednesday, June 19, at North Cliffs, near Bassett Cove in Portreath. Cornwall Police said they had received reports that a woman had been sexually assaulted by an unknown man.



The victim fled the scene after the incident and walked towards Godrevy. The suspect was described as white, approximately 1.80 m tall, slim and with dark brown hair that was approximately 5 cm long. He was wearing a dark T-shirt, dark jeans and dark sneakers.

Det Insp Dan McKenzie said: “The woman is currently being cared for by specially trained officers. Our investigation into this incident is ongoing and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anything that could assist our investigation to come forward.”
