Silver Alert lifted after drowned man found in western Kansas

HAYS (KSNT) – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) said a 66-year-old man who was first reported missing in a Silver Alert last week has been found dead.

On Thursday, June 20, the KBI issued a Silver Alert for Randy S. Goodermuth. In the original press release, the KBI said Goodermuth suffers from schizophrenia and was last seen hallucinating and running away from home.

On Sunday, June 23, the KBI announced that Goodermuth was found dead south of Hays. An Ellis County coroner concluded that his death was the result of accidental drowning.
