A British woman was allegedly gang raped after partying at a music festival in France.

According to a police source, the tourist was spotted crying on the street in Paris on Saturday while clutching her underwear. The incident is said to have occurred after she attended the Fête de la Musique music event.

She was found crying after leaving the concert at the Olympiahalle, one of hundreds of events held to mark the “Fête de la Musique” – or “Make Music Day” in English. She was picked up by firefighters and taken to hospital in the early hours of the morning.

The victim was medically examined at Cochin Hospital and told police that several men dragged her to a secluded area where they sexually assaulted her and stole her phone, Le Figaro reports. French authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. No arrests have been made so far.

The incident came shortly after five teenagers were injected with a mysterious substance at another Make Music Day event in the Paris suburb of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. The victims, aged between 13 and 17, alerted paramedics at the event after feeling stings in their arms. According to local media, witnesses at the scene reported that the girls were feeling nauseous and explained that they felt dizzy and had a sudden fever.

They were said to have had marks from punctures on their arms. The mayor of Saint-Maur spoke about the syringe incident and said: “This is an extremely painful phenomenon and difficult to stop. Security measures have been significantly increased and we have installed temporary cameras whose images are transmitted in real time to the municipal police monitoring center. These images could help with the investigation.”
