“Hazardous materials incident” in Millcreek leads to road closures and business evacuations

MILLCREEK – Officers responded to a hazardous materials incident in the area of ​​3900 South and 250 West.

According to Unified Fire, some roads are closed and businesses are being evacuated.

Authorities said they were still working to identify the substance, but it contained a gas element.

UPDATE: A 55-gallon drum of an unknown chemical outside of this building began to off-gas. Crews are still working to determine what chemical it is. According to Unified Fire, TRAX service was shut down in the area while fumigation continued and hazardous materials were deployed.
