Aberdeen soldier dies in off-duty parachuting accident

A soldier from Aberdeen and member of the Golden Knights skydiving team has died in an off-duty skydiving accident, according to the U.S. Army Golden Knights.

Dominic Perry was killed on Wednesday during a parachute pilot competition in Whiteville, Tennessee, the Army said.

A family member said Perry would have turned 39 on Friday. He lived in Aberdeen, the Army said.

The Army said Perry was a sergeant first class.

Perry served in the U.S. Army for over 20 years and was with the Golden Knights Parachute Team for over four years.
