Heat and humidity remain, only a few showers – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – First Alert Weather meteorologist Trevor Gibbs is monitoring heat and humidity.

Temperatures will remain close to average over the next few days, with temperatures around 30 degrees in the afternoon and around 21 degrees at night.

Showers/storms are expected on Thursday and Friday, mainly inland. Many areas, especially on the coast, will remain dry.

Temperatures will rise to over 35 degrees Celsius in northeast Florida on Saturday and to over 37 to 38 degrees Celsius in southeast Georgia.

In the tropics, two areas are being watched for development: one off the coast of the southeastern United States and one in the southern Gulf of Mexico. Neither poses a threat to us, according to Gibbs, but we will experience persistent offshore winds through next week, maintaining a moderate risk of rip currents. The first name is Alberto.
