A 62-year-old pedestrian was killed by a drunk driver in Kenosha

KENOSHA, Wisconsin – A 62-year-old man was hit by a drunk driver and pinned under the car in Kenosha on Saturday night, Kenosha police said.

The KPD responded around 9 p.m. with the Kenosha Fire Department and pulled the man out from under his car. However, he had suffered significant injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police cordoned off about six blocks of Sheridan Road between 57th and 63rd streets.

The driver, Sheila Tennin, a 37-year-old Waukegan resident, was reportedly under the influence of THC, according to KPD.

She was arrested and taken to the Kenosha County Jail. Tennin was charged with driving while prohibited, causing death, and driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to a press release from the KPD, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation also includes intoxication by drugs, controlled substances and alcohol among the impairments.

Taking a taxi, carpooling or asking a sober friend to drive are some ways to prevent accidents, according to the KPD.

KPD called the Major Crash Assistance Team to assist in the investigation of the accident.
