Carroll County man killed in driving aggression incident that started on I-71

A Carroll County man was shot and killed in a road rage incident that began on Interstate 71 and spread to a Kentucky highway, according to Kentucky State Police. Kentucky State Police said they were called to a shooting on KY Highway 389 around 7 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Daniel Shouse of Carrollton. KSP said their preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a vehicle on I-71 called 911 and reported that the driver of another vehicle had displayed a gun. The two vehicles exited the interstate at Exit 43 in Carroll County onto KY-389, and that’s when the incident escalated into gunfire, according to KSP. Shouse, the driver of one of the vehicles, was shot by the driver of the other vehicle. KSP did not say whether or not it was Shouse who called 911. They also did not say whether or not they had a suspect at the time. The KSP Post 5 investigation is ongoing.

According to KSP, their preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a vehicle on I-71 called 911 and stated that the driver of another vehicle displayed a weapon.

The two vehicles exited the interstate at Exit 43 in Carroll County onto KY-389, and according to KSP, the incident escalated into gunfire.

Shouse, the driver of one of the vehicles, was shot by the driver of the other vehicle.

KSP did not say whether it was Shouse who called 911 or not.

They also did not say whether or not they had a suspect at that time.

KSP Post 5 is conducting an ongoing investigation.
