GRAND ISLAND – A 35-year-old Grand Island man was arrested on two counts of first-degree sexual assault and incest.

On Wednesday, June 5, at 12:23 p.m., a Grand Island Police Department officer made contact with an adult female and her minor daughter regarding an incident of sexual assault.

The 10-year-old girl stated that she was sexually abused in her sleep during a sleepover at a friend’s house by the friend’s father, a 35-year-old man from Grand Island.

During the investigation, officers were also informed that one of the father’s daughters had reported a sexual assault at the age of ten.

Central Nebraska Today generally does not name victims of sexual assault. The man’s name is being withheld to protect the victim’s identity.

Officers arrested the man on two counts of sexual assault and incest. He was booked into the Hall County Correctional Facility.

The GIPD continues to investigate this case.
