Man found dead with gunshot wound on Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man was found dead of a gunshot wound on Chamberlayne Avenue in Richmond Thursday morning, prompting police to investigate.

On Thursday, June 6, at 9:02 a.m., Richmond Police officers were called to the 2900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for reports of random gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner will determine the cause and manner of death.
