Suspected package thief killed in single-vehicle accident in Monrovia – Pasadena Star News

A man suspected of stealing a package in Arcadia was killed in a traffic accident in Monrovia early Wednesday, June 5, authorities said.

A package equipped with a GPS device was stolen from a home in the 200 block of East Sycamore Avenue around 4:30 a.m., Arcadia police said. Officers tracking the package discovered a single-item accident about two miles away in the 300 block of West Maple Avenue in Monrovia.

There were two people in the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and a passenger was taken to hospital with moderate injuries.

The package was found in the vehicle along with other stolen mail.

Information about the suspect, current information about the passenger or the circumstances of the accident were not immediately available.
